Emergency Plans

safety begins at home

Emergencies can happen anytime and anywhere. Power can be out, roads closed, and crucial supplies unavailable. Being prepared for emergencies is the responsibility of federal, provincial, and local governments, and YOU!

There are three types of emergencies that can happen: natural (eg. tornadoes), human-caused (eg. arson) and technological (eg. power failure). It makes sense to prepare for the unexpected. Everyone should be prepared to take care of themselves and their families for up to three days in the event of an emergency.  This will help to reduce the impact an emergency has on you.
